Parking Sensor System à  PS-01

This is a basic parking sensor system consists of 2 ultrasonic sensors, digital control box and a buzzer.  This system can detect the distance between the car and the back obstruction by the ultrasonic sensors installed at the rear bumper of the car with steps sounds.  Driver can tell the backing distance with the changing alarm sounds.

Installation Diagram

Be sure no other parts of the vehicle falls into the detecting range of sensors so as give a false detection.

Suggested positions to install the sensors

Install the insert-in sensors

Note:

1.       The 3M double paster could not be used repeatedly; the position to stick on the buzzer or sensor should be clean.  The effect will become perfect in 48 hours.

2.       Sensors’ wire should be well protected from damage.

3.       Holes need to be drilled in the bumper to install the insert-in type sensors.

4.      Adjust the direction of the sensors to avoid false detection.  For round sensors, no need to adjust the direction.

Installation and test

1.       After the installation of sensors, tune the direction to the correct; arrange the wire in good order.

2.       Connect the power supply of digital control box and reverse light according to figures

3.       Connect the horn with the digital control box (at this moment no need to put the horn at the driver’s room since the purpose of connection is to test it), don’t connect the sensors.

4.       Put the car into back gear or brake the car, the system will be in test status.

Test: a) If there is no sounds, please check whether the wire is connected correctly, whether the voltage is higher than 10V, whether the plug of horn is connected well;  b)  If there appear long sound, please switch the power off and then enter into the back gear again, if the problems could not be removed, the control unit could be decided to be failed.  The whole system should be replaced.

5.          Connect one of the sensor into the corresponding outlet in the control unit, have someone to stand 1.0M in front the sensor, if the detection is correct, disconnect this sensor and test other one;  After all the sensors are tested ok, connect all sensors to the  control unit.

Test: a)  When test some sensor, if the horn sends long sound, please check if some parts of the car or some unwanted object fall into the detecting range,  if the sensor is near to some strong interference sources (such as exhaust pipe, other wires).  b)  If the alarm sound is ”Bi.Bi“ but there is nothing in front of the sensor,  The sensor might be detect ground, please check the position and direction of the sensor.  Or, the sensor might be detect some parts of the car.  C)  If the problem still couldn’t be removed, the whole system should be replaced.

Note:  a) Please connect the sensors with the corresponding outlets in the control unit.  B) For the concerning of safety, the horn will only send “Bi…..” sound when detect something in the distance of 0.0 to 0.4M which is pre-designed.

Remarks

1.      When install the system, the car engine should be powered off.

2.      The performance maybe affected in the following situation:   Heavy rain; The gravel road, bumpy road; sloping road and bush; Very hot, cold or moist weather, the sensor is covered by snow, ice, mud… etc.

3.      Other ultrasonic or electric wave, the instance of DC/AC switch or 24/12V switch maybe affect the performance of the system

4.      The sensors should not be installed too tightly or too close.

5.      The metal bumper maybe affect the performance of the system

6.      Don’t locate the control unit near to other interference sources such as exhaust pip ot other wires.

7.      Test the system to make sure it works properly before using.

8.      This system only acts as a kind if reminding aid, in case of any accident, the manufacturer or distributor is not responsible for the consequence.

9.      Objects maybe cause failure detection
